ARGs (Alternate Reality Games) are a form of game that typically spans across multiple mediums. That's the nutshell of the concept. As for the specifics, it depends on who you ask. Based on my experience, an ARG usually makes you look its name up online to see if it's "legit" or just a game (e.g. "Is this company real?").
